3D Shape Recovery and Pattern Classification Using Neural Network Learning

Abstract:

In the computer vision and machine learning fields, image recognition and its application technologies are more and more becoming popular in recent years. In this talk, 3D shape recovery and pattern classification approaches using neural network learning are introduced from the background to its recent application which we have developed for the supporting purpose of the medical diagnosis in recent years. Some approaches about 3D shape recovery and automatic detection of polyp from endoscope image are presented with introducing neural network and pattern classification technologies, where how shape of polyp is recovered and how polyp is detected with machine learning approach are shown. Shape recovery approach is based on the shape-from-shading approach and learning and modification of surface orientation are done with neural network. Automatic polyp detection and classification of Benign or malignant polyp are overall based on the machine learning approaches including SVM and CNN with many learning data and generalization.
